November Studio Update

Welcome to the very first Sandbox update! In case you missed the recent press release, we announced in September 2019 the merge of Edge Concepts and Studio Ginger to found Sandbox. Richard, Fonda and Luke joined forces to provide a more comprehensive design offering and consultancy experience for clients, from initial research, and creative right through to final delivery.

It's been business as usual around the studio, with the team coming together seamlessly, working across a broad range of projects from homewares, wellbeing and hospitality.

The studio is humming and spirits are high, understandable when the creative and delivery teams are producing such great work. In this update we're featuring Bailey Nelson, Adairs and Gazman, with a sneak peek into some exciting projects in the works.

Happy viewing!

--- FEATURED PROJECTS ---

BAILEY NELSON // WELL BEING

Curves for days! Aesthetically pleasing as well as functional and brand defining. That entrance curve, those details, the monochrome flooring treatment, and that oh so fresh colour palette.... all the deco feels and more.

But let's give the walls the credit here, they are working hard in this concept. The sku holding capacity is huge, the category management seamless, the feature mirrors while essential also act as installation art and the product is made the hero under the suspended track lighting as it so deserves.

“The Sandbox team really understand the Bailey Nelson brand direction, and they are focused on delivering great stores in tight turnaround time frames and budgets.”
- Bailey Nelson

GAZMAN // FASHION

It's extremely satisfying to work with great Australia fashion retailers, and Gazman is one of those success stories that we are proud to be a part of.

Our key focus was to work with their team to develop a new and more refined concept to evolve and redefine their stores. The interior features layered floor units and wall display fixtures through out, and a masculine colour and finishes palette for better balance in the detailing.

The transformation for the brand has been key to re-position it in the men's fashion market place, and to aid the rollout and delivery throughout their network and concessions.

Recently opened is the Mornington, Church Street Brighton, Karingyup and The Glen stores.

ADAIRS // HOMEWARES

We love creating impact, and nothing commands more attention than this shopfront at Highpoint, boasting a massive 60m curved frontage with integrated promotional imagery and VM product displays to entice and inspire.

This huge footprint is home to its entire product range; kids, furniture, bathroom, gifts, bedroom and homewares.

Expert category management and store layout planning by Sandbox has produced a cohesive solution for the brand.

HOYTS // ENTERTAINMENT

It's been an absolute dream come true working with Hoyts to design their cinemas. As you'd expect, design in the leisure and entertainment sector is challenging, rewarding and 'larger than life'... everything is big... including these over scale wire frame light fittings custom made to tie in with an industrial stylized zone in the foyer at Mandarin Chatswood.

This 3D artists impression above is a small component of the full creative package that we're working on, other parts include new fixtures, extensive concept planning for improved customer flow and experience as well as a full palette overhaul. We can't wait to bring you the final result.

SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS // FOOD

We're currently working on a store concept for a well known and established brand in the food retailing space to obtain a Green Star Rating.

What is Green Star? It’s a rating system issued by the Green Building Council of Australia that evaluates sustainable and environmentally conscious design, construction and operation of a store. Green Star Interiors assesses the sustainability outcomes of interior fitouts across nine holistic impact categories.

All will be revealed in the new year..... but until then our lips are sealed!
