Swimwear Galore has opened a new flagship store in Carlton North, Victoria, now the largest swimwear store in the Southern Hemisphere.

The new Carlton North flagship is located at 667–677 Nicholson St, Victoria.

The family-owned business, founded more than 35 years ago by Jan Ingersole, has grown from a single rack of swimsuits in a Fitzroy fabric shop to seven stores across Victoria and a national online platform.

The brand, now led by Jan’s children Andrew, Kelly and Caz, continues its focus on helping customers feel confident in swimwear across all sizes, stages of life and body types.

“This new store represents so much more than just a retail space, it’s a celebration of our family story and the diverse community that has supported us for over three decades,” said Caz Skudar, co-owner and brand director of Swimwear Galore.

“Whether you’re after a supportive one-piece, a new-season bikini, or matching pieces for the whole family, Swimwear Galore has something for everyone.”

The flagship features over 100 brands and a broad range of styles, including petite, plus size, A–H cup, maternity, men’s and kids’ ranges, and chlorine-resistant options.

The store includes inclusive fitting rooms and offers specialist support for sizing and styling.

Popular brands include Sea Level, Speedo, Baku, Seafolly, JETS, Sunseeker, Funkita, Ripcurl and Artesands. The retailer’s stylists expect “swim-to-street” styles, pieces designed for both beachwear and everyday wear, to trend this summer.

Swimwear Galore serves more than 200,000 customers annually and plans to launch a new loyalty program in 2026. Its Sorrento store will undergo a refurbishment next year.
