The Coffee Co.
The Coffee Company is a destination for serious coffee drinkers. We had a lot of fun working with Proprietors, Head Roasters, Connoisseurs, and Brothers Joel and Marlon. As you can well imagine these boys are passionate about coffee and are extremely proud of the store’s 40 year heritage on Carlisle Street, Balaclava. Since 1969, The Coffee Company has been dedicated to blending and roasting daily in store for its devoted and loyal customers.
The retail design concept hinges around a 50's industrial style, integrating historical elements such as suspended cast iron light fittings sourced from the UK, and using the original store counter scales. We also introduced a fresh colour palette to complement these elements and a family of contemporary graphics applied at high-level on a feature glass pelmet, product communicators in the bean bins and indicators on the wall shelf display.
The inviting aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans pouring from the 15kg Vittoria roaster at the front of the store fills the street and captures customers on entry. As well as drawing people to the cafe housed at the rear of the space, the store itself is extremely functional, moving a ridiculous amount of coffee a week to meet wholesale, retail and customer demand.
You have to experience this store for yourself. Come in and find out how good the house blend is, which is of course always freshly roasted straight to your cup!
