Focus on Furniture‘s new store design brings a fresh perspective to the world of furniture retail, focusing on customer-centric elements and improved product presentation.
In an exciting leap forward, 'Focus on Furniture' has unveiled its new retail design direction, setting the stage for an enhanced shopping experience.
"The redesigned 'Focus on Furniture' store marks a significant departure from conventional layouts. The design team has shifted their focus towards creating an inviting and immersive atmosphere that speaks to the brand's commitment to quality and style. The design concept revolves around a fusion of modern aesthetics and comfort, aimed at redefining the way customers perceive furniture stores..” says Luke Cannon, Creative Director at Sandbox Group.
The new store more accurately embodies the brand, its future vision, and beautiful products.
Preliminary "before" photographs unveil the story of an inefficient space, insufficient product planning, and a lackluster representation of the brand.
Open Layout Benefiting Customers and Staff
One of the standout features of the new store design is its open layout. The aim was to create a more fluid layout where you can move through sets rather than a rigid racetrack-style arrangement. The spacious and airy environment provides numerous benefits for both customers and staff. Shoppers can effortlessly navigate through the store, exploring various furniture sets and home decor items with ease. This open design not only offers a more enjoyable shopping experience but also fosters a sense of freedom and accessibility.
For staff, the open layout encourages better interaction with customers. Sales associates are now more approachable and able to offer assistance and guidance throughout the shopping journey. This newfound openness helps establish a warm and welcoming rapport between the brand and its customers.
Achieving success in a store hinges on meticulous customer journey planning, thoughtful product zoning, and strategic category planning. The aim was to create a more fluid layout where you can move through sets rather than a rigid racetrack-style arrangement.
Elevating Product Presentation
The 'Focus on Furniture' store design incorporates innovative approaches to product display. Various timber screens are used within the space to elevate the product without encumbering the space. Each section of the store is meticulously designed to create inspiring living spaces, showcasing how furniture and decor items can seamlessly blend to create a harmonious home environment. Customers can visualize how pieces might look in their own homes, aiding them in making informed choices.
Moreover, 'Focus on Furniture' is expanding its product range to cater to an even broader audience, offering an extensive selection of furniture styles, from contemporary to classic, to suit diverse tastes and preferences. The newly designed store layout simplifies the process of finding the perfect piece to complement any home.

New tenancy location
The new location in the Springvale Home Centre, situated one floor above the previous store, exudes a light, bright and inviting storefront, providing customers with an alluring and revitalized presence.
The inviting new storefront enhances the brand’s appeal, offering a refreshed and captivating presence.
Lighting Plan Enhancing Space
Lighting plays a crucial role in transforming the shopping experience, and 'Focus on Furniture' has incorporated a strategic lighting plan to amplify the space's aesthetics. Thoughtfully placed lighting fixtures accentuate product details, draw attention to key displays, and create a warm and inviting ambiance. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the store but also showcases the furniture pieces in their best light.
